The Massey Ferguson MF 165 Diesel tractor was the 'Red Giant' 100 series replacement for the MF 65. Apart from the redesigned tin-work the MF was very similar in all respects to the MF 65. Optional equipment included: Pressure Control which replaced the MF 65 Multi-Pull hitch system. As with the MF 135, Multi-Power transmission, hydraulic spool valves, weather cab, foot throttle, spring suspension seat and a cigarette lighter were all listed as options. Several other important improvements were introduced during the twelve year production run. Power output raised from 56.8 to 60 h.p. in 1968. In the early 1970's dry element air cleaners, oil-cooled brakes, improved hydraulics and independent power take-off were all incorporated as valuable additions to the tractor. |
