Deutz Model FIM 414 Tractor 1938

The Deutz Model FIM 414 Tractor first appeared in 1936, it was specifically designed with the small farmer in mind and was known as the "Deutz Bauernschlepper" (smallholder's tractor).  The model played a very important part in the mechanisation of small German farms.  The engine was a water cooled single cylinder four-stroke diesel unit rated at 11 h.p.  Standard equipment included a drive pulley, power take-off and a cutter bar drive.  The FIM 414 remained in production virtually unchanged until 1951.  Approximately 19,000 units were produced and it was to be the last water cooled tractor built by Deutz, all subsequent models produced were powered by air-cooled diesel engines.
