Lanz Bulldog Model D3606 Tractor 1950

The Lanz Bulldog Model D3606 Tractor was powered by a semi-diesel engine of 36 h.p.  Bore and stroke was 150 x 210mm respectively. Six forward and two reverse gears were provided and pneumatic tyres were standard.  Prior to 1950 the only method of starting was by the means of using a blowlamp to heat the hot bulb before hand starting the engine.  While an electric starter was introduced in 1950 the blowlamp remained essential equipment until 1952 when the cylinder head design was changed which permitted conventional starting.  The single-cylinder Bulldogs were replaced by the D2016 full diesel engined tractors in 1955.
